The Crimean Tatars culture has been forgotten for half a century. With the return of the Crimean Tatars to their traditional homelands in central Crimea the nation have got a chance to rebirth ther national culture.

Crimean Tatar Republican Art Museum was foundet in 1992. It is one of the scientific – research centres both in Crimea and Ukraine which studies and popularizes history, archeology, ethnography material and spiritual culture of Crimean Tatars.

Valuable collections saved by a miracle in the places of deportation are the basis of the museum fund.

The museum keeps the works of famous painters of pre-war period A. Ustayev, S. Osmanov, M. Abselamov. It also keeps sculpture, graphic art and picturesque canvases of modern Crimean Tatar artists, the collection of rare postcards, religious books, national instruments of ancient and modern time, archeological collection and a numismatics. The particular pride of the museum is unique works of jewellers, embroderies, pattern weaving of the end of the XVIII-XX centuries and everyday things.

Photodocumentary materials are widely presented is the funds showing pre-war and nowadays activity of the national theatre and folklore groups.
